Latoya Wolf Gets Plea Deal If She Testifies Against Ex-Husband

Oneida County Sheriff's Department

A Tomahawk woman will get a break from prosecutors IF she testifies against her ex-husband on a first-degree murder charge.

33 year old Latoya Wolf had been charged with party to first-degree intentional homicide in the death of Kenneth Wells under the Davenport Street bridge in Rhinelander. Oneida County District Attorney Michael Schiek announced the terms of the plea agreement...

"....the state's recommendation is for a 25 year sentence, bifurcated into 12 years of initial confinement, followed by 13 years of extended supervision..."

Judge Michael Bloom accepted the plea bargain, which drops the charge to second-degree intentional homicide. The maximum on the charge can be as high as 60 years. But the agreement is contingent on Latoya testifying against her ex-husband Shannon Wolf. His first-degree intentional homicide trial is set for seven days beginning October 15.

Kenneth Wells body was found floating in the Wisconsin River in Rhinelander in June, 2003. The cause of death initially was unknown, but after Rhinelander police reopened the case,  charges were brought against the Wolfs. Shannon Wolf was in prison at the time of current charges, having been sentenced for an incident involving Latoya Wolf in February, 2012.
