LDF Death Leads To Arrests For Heroin Distribution
The death of a 54 year old woman in Lac du Flambeau on March 3 for what's believed to be a drug overdose has led police to arrest six persons for heroin distribution. Tribal Police report they were called mid-afternoon March 3 and found the woman unresponsive. Attempts were made to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The next day, Lac du Flambeau police and state Justice Department investigators executed search warrants which led to the arrests. Police Chief Robert Brandenburg was not available for comment Friday afternoon, but in a press release from Tribal Communications, Brandenburg thanked the many agencies who assisted in the investigation and medical personnel.
