League of Women Voters Encourage Voter Registration

flickr.com

The League of Women Voters of the Northwoods is helping the public complete registration forms in honor of National Voter Registration Day Sept. 22. Spokesperson Jane Trotter says it’s a reminder for people who have moved, changed names or turned 18 since the last election, to register.

“…the types of documents you can use include valid Wisconsin ID, driver’s license or state ID card, any identification card from an employer, a real estate tax bill or receipt, and that can also include a utility bill like a water bill, university, college or technical college ID card…”

Volunteers will be at Rhinelander High School from 9 am to noon and before the school day and between lunch periods at Lakeland and Merrill High Schools to help students register.

Voter registration forms will be available at Trig’s Mall in Minocqua from 4-6 pm.

For more information about the times and locations of registration, visit The League of Women Voters website at lwvnow.org
