A Northwoods man has entered a plea in a case where a friend died in a traffic crash.
At Tuesday's pre-trial conference, 21 year old Randall Lego of Highway 47 Rhinelander entered a plea of no contest to one charge of Homicide By Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Court records indicate Lego was the driver of a vehicle that crashed on River Road in the town of Pine Lake early on November 21 last year.
A passenger, 23 year old Jacob Juedes was pronounced dead at the scene. Lego also was injured.
A plea agreement finds the Oneida County District Attorney's office will not exceed the sentencing recommendation of the pre-sentencing report, while other traffic related charges were dismissed following Lego's plea to the most serious charge.
The pre-sentence report will be filed by early June, with sentencing set for July 1. Lego is free on bond. The maximum sentence is 25 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
