www.flickr.com

Five northern counties are among 10 Wisconsin counties listed as not meeting four criteria to say those counties have recovered from the economic downturn.

The National Association of Counties said only seven of Wisconsin's 72 counties have fully recovered from the Great Recession. The four areas surveyed focused on jobs, unemployment rates, gross domestic products and average home prices.

Among the ten counties not meeting any of the criteria was Vilas county, along with Florence, Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Buffalo,Marquette, Richland, Rock and Racine counties.

The seven counties that met all the criteria are Dane, Green, Lafayette, Eau Claire, Trempealeau,  Outagamie and Calumet counties. Just seven percent of the nation's counties had fully recovered as of 2015.
