The sentencing for the 18 year old Rhinelander area girl charged with killing her parents at their home in the town of Piehl in March of 2015 is going on today in Oneida County Court.
Ashlee Martinson was found guilty of two counts of 2nd Degree Intentional Homicide after entering into a plea bargain. T
he bodies of step-father Thomas Ayers and his wife Jennifer were found in the home and other children were left in the home.
In court this morning, Ayers' sister presented a statement defending her brother. But defense attorney Thomas Wilmouth grilled the sister, bringing to light Ayers long history of domestic violence and abuse, and fathering several children with many different partners.
Several witnesses are expected to testify for the defense. We'll have results as they are available.
