Not guilty pleas were entered by the court for Mark Mayo, 48 of Eagle River who stood mute at his arraignment Monday on two felony counts of first degree recklessly endangering safety and one count of going armed while intoxicated.

Mayo was taken into custody August 24 in an armed standoff with law enforcement in the Vilas County town of Washington.

Defense attorney John Voorhees request a reduction in the $25,000 cash bond which was denied by Judge Neal “Chip” Nielsen, III. Vilas County district attorney Al Moustakis indicated he had no objection to allow Mayo in patient treatment in a secure facility if it could be arranged.

A pretrial conference was set for November 29.
