Ministry Health Care Collaborates With Health System

Ministry Health Care

Ministry Health Care and Quality Health Solutions have announced a partnership that a spokesperson says should help both organizations improve patient care.

?

Quality Health Solutions a collaborative group of Wisconsin health care systems and the Medical College of Wisconsin. QHS is expanding its accountable care network.

Ministry Health Care senior vice-president Ronald Mahorek says the partnership is an effort to improve quality and lower costs through an accountable care organization. He gives an example...

?

"....simply the coordination of cares as patients move through the system...that we're not engaged in multiple tests, that were sharing information,...we're sharing best practices, we're sharing care protocols as patients navigate through the health care system..."

Mahorek says the coordination effort will first work through the Fox Valley but he says they're working toward having the system in place for norther Wisconsin  in late 2014 or 2015.

The addition of Ministry Health Care brings the network to 34 hospitals and more than 6,000 physicians spanning north, central and eastern Wisconsin. Annually, the members have more than 166,000 inpatient admissions and over five million outpatient visits.

Ministry Health Care operates 15 hospitals with locations across north, central and eastern Wisconsin and has more than 650 clinicians providing services at 47 clinic sites.
