Minocqua Police Seeking Volunteer Ministers For Chaplain Program

Minocqua Police Department

Minocqua Police are asking volunteers who want to assist police as a chaplain to contact the department. Chief David Jaeger says the program is a field service ministry....

"....which means they will go out into the field with officers to provide another level of service to individuals in times of crisis...."

Chief Jaeger says currently licensed ministers or retired ministers who are still licensed and ordained are invited to the program. He says the volunteer chaplains will need to have a valid driver's license as they could be called by responding officers for assistance.

Jaeger says the chaplains will provide spiritual guidance, pastoral counseling and comfort in time of crisis...

"....contact the Minocqua Police Department, contact me, Chief David Jaeger and we can discuss any questions they have about the program. I think it's another level of service that the Minocqua Police Department can bring to the community....."

The chaplains will also provide spiritual help to department personnel and families in times of need.

Rhinelander Police started a chaplain program on January 1.
