-----

A Minocqua town supervisor was struck by lightning early this morning, according to reports from the Minocqua Police Department and town officials.

Police received a call at 6:35 a.m. saying a 66-year-old man was struck by lightning outside his home on Tanglewood Court in Minocqua. Minocqua and Woodruff police along with paramedics responded.

Minocqua town officials identified the man as Bryan Jennings, a long-time supervisor and Minocqua businessman. Jennings was first taken to Howard Young Medical Center by ambulance.

A medical helicopter transfer was ruled out because of the ongoing thunderstorms. Jennings was then transferred by ambulance to St. Claire’s Hospital in Weston. Medical personnel there directed that Jennings be taken to a Madison hospital burn unit.

Details of Jenning's condition are not available at this time.
