More Men Needed For Health Survey

The hospitals and county public health departments in the Northwoods are conducting a survey to assess health issues here. But as officials look at recent surveys they're finding they need more input from one gender.

The Community Health Assessment involves all residents in Oneida, Vilas and Forest counties. The survey is designed to help health professionals find and work on specific needs the public identifies.

Oneida County Public Health Director Linda Conlon says to get a fair assessment, they need more men to respond...

"...as part of our plan and part of being as comprehensive as possible and having the best representation of our community, we are in need of more men to take our community health survey..."

Surveys are available online and in paper format. There are links on the Oneida, Vilas and Forest counties' websites. Paper copies are at each health department. Copies are also available at libraries, chamber offices and churches.

The health departments along with Ministry hospitals in the Northwoods are working with UW-Stout's Applied Research Center to compile the results. The survey closes at the end of the month and a report will be available to in mid-December.
