NATH Fundraiser This Saturday To Help Northwoods Homeless

NATH

A major fundraiser to help Northwoods homeless people is coming this Saturday.

The Northwoods Alliance For Temporary Housing is hosting their annual Anniversary Gala and Dance at the Hodag Banquet Center. NATH operates Frederick Place homeless shelter in Rhinelander. Shelter Executive Director Tammy Modic says the public has given them the opportunity to be here...

"....it is our seventh anniversary of operation of Frederick Place. NATH opened the doors of Frederick Place on Jan. 31, 2011. We're coming up on the seven-year anniversary and ready to celebrate...."

She says more has been added to the program...

"....the event is on Feb. 3, a Saturday at the Hodag Banquet Center or Taj Mahal. Doors open at 5, dinner at 6:30 p.m. This year we're adding a dance, so it was added to the ticket price. So the ticket of $45 includes a dinner and dance this year...."

You can also just go to the dance for a lower admission fee. Music will be provided by Chris and Joe Bruso and Friends.

"...so NATH is the 501(c)3 that owns and operates Frederick Place. That is what we're trying to get out there that they are one in the same. Frederick Place is the name of the actual shelter. We have about a $270,000 annual budget. We get between $30,000 and $40,000 from the federal government. We are raising every year $200,000...."

More information is available at the nath northwoods. com website or by calling the shelter.(715-482-7727) The shelter serves Oneida, Vilas, Forest, Lincoln and Langlade counties.
