Nicolet College Graduation Set For Saturday

Nicolet Area Technical College

Saturday begins a new era for the graduates of Nicolet Area Technical College.

Nicolet College holds its 48th annual spring graduation on Saturday, May 20.In all, 540 individuals are expected to graduate with an associate’s degree, diploma, or certificate during the 2016-17 academic year.

College President Dr. Richard Nelson says they're pleased with the number of graduates, especially in one area...

"...we have a large number of graduates, particularly in the medical degrees. 43 nursing assistants, 25 in med assistant, 23 in practical nursing. Lots of graduates heading out into the healthcare field which we know we all need...."

Nelson says past graduates are reporting satisfaction with their education at Nicolet....

"...that's one of the advantages, I think, of being a small school. We do get to know all of our students,we understand that we don't need to do a 'one size fits all education' and we don't. Everybody's different, their ambitions are a little different. They're coming from different places and going different places. Our faculty understand that. We take advantage of our small size to deliver the kind of educational experience all our students deserve...."

The college’s annual Graduate Follow-Up Report surveys students six months after they graduate. It shows that between 99 percent and 93 percent of graduates in each of the past three years were satisfied or very satisfied with their Nicolet education.

Ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the Nicolet College Theatre in Rhinelander.
