Nicolet College Trustees Consider Possible Transitional Plan

The Nicolet College Board of Trustees has begun talking about the process they would take should they need to hire a new president.

Nicolet College President Libby Burmaster has been listed as a finalist for the president's position at Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois. She had been a finalist for the presidency of Edgewood College in Madison. Edgewood College this week announced Dr. Scott Flanagan, a vice-president at the school, as it's president.

The Nicolet Board Executive Committee met to decide a process should Burmaster be offered, and accept, a job at another school. Board President Deanna Pierpoint says should Burmaster leave, they would first appoint an interim president...

?

"....if there is going to be a vacancy, obviously the board is going to appoint an interim president, then proceed with a national search to fill the position of Nicolet College president. I don't think there's any reason to talk a whole lot about it now because, the timing, we don't know what is going to happen.

Burmaster told the committee she likes her job at Nicolet. She says if a job is offered to her, and she decides she would accept the offer, she would likely be with Nicolet College at least until June 30.
