No Foul Play Expected in Schinke Death

Vilas county authorities say no foul play is suspected in the death of Sandra Schinke of Plum Lake, whose body was found  almost 18 months after she disappeared.

Schinke was reported missing from her residence in Plum Lake on April 6, 2012. Her body was found near a snowmobile trail on September 20, 2013. Schinke's remains were found east of Sayner in the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest. At the time of death she was 55 years old.

Lt. Carl Gauger says there were no indications of trauma to the skeletal  remains after a state autopsy. The remains were also examined by   the Center for Human Identification and Forensic Anthropology at the University of North Texas.  Her personal effects such as glasses and jewelry were still with her when she was discovered.  Gauger said the cause of death was ruled as undetermined, but foul play was not suspected.

At the time of her disappearance a large search took place but did not find her.  A hunter found Schinke's remains.
