Northern Wisconsin GOP Delegate Talks Convention

en.wikipedia.org

Some political experts are predicting a raucous Republican National Convention beginning today in Cleveland, but a regional Republican Party official doesn't believe the talk.

Jim Miller of Hayward is the 7th Congressional District Republican Party Chair and a delegate to the convention from Wisconsin. The 7th District covers much of central and northern Wisconsin.

Miller says the national convention brings about a feeling of the national scope of the party....

".....I've been to a lot of Republican Party state conventions so you get the pulse of Wisconsin, but just to see people from Wisconsin, people from Texas, people from the northeast, from different geographic areas. Just mingle with them...."

Miller doesn't believe there will be a realistic push at the convention to overturn Donald Trump as the nominee....

"....some of that chatter comes from a pretty small but concentrated group. I don't think this is reflective of the Republican base or activists. What I'm hearing from my home in Sawyer county is 'stay strong and support Trump'....."

Miller says he's been to many state conventions, but at the national convention you get to talk to people from many parts of the nation.
