Officials find body after fire at Langlade County home Monday night

A fire Monday night led police to find a body in a home in Langlade County.

According to a press release from the Langlade County Sheriff’s Office, they received a 9-1-1 call around 7:45 Monday night reporting a barn fire near County Highway H.  

When deputies and fire officials arrived on scene they found the barn and home fully engulfed in flames. After officials got the fire under control, a body was found inside the home.  The Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation Arson Unit was requested and are on the scene conducting an investigation. There will be an autopsy to identify the body and the cause of death.
