Oneida Panel To Take Up Clinic’s Hospital Permit Wednesday

A decision on Marshfield Clinic’s hospital plans may finally come at Wednesday's(5/24) meeting of the Oneida County Planning and Development Committee.

The conditional use permit needed by the Clinic to build a 12-bed hospital in Minocqua returns for another round of talks and possibly a decision.

Ascension Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff opposes the permit issuance. The Minocqua town board supports the permit issuance. Following a lengthy public hearing, the committee has twice delayed action, citing a need for more time to review documents before weighing arguments and making a decision.

Marshfield Clinic officials say it will take 8 months to build their $30 million hospital once they get the permit.

The committee meets at 1 o’clock at the county courthouse in Rhinelander.
