You can take part in an online chat about the growing black bear population in Wisconsin on the DNR website Thursday(5/19/2016) at noon. DNR big game ecologist Mary Annala says the online chat gives the public a wide area to explore the many aspects of bears...

".....so this chat is basically for the public to interact with the DNR staff and basically ask questions related to bears, bear management or bear hunting. Anything related to bears we're open to...."

She says they anticipate questions about populations, hunting, and human-bear conflicts, among other topics. Annala says the bears have emerged from their winter dens with cubs. A

nnala says there is an estimate of around 28,000 bears in Wisconsin.

The chat is Thursday at noon on the Wisconsin DNR website. Once you get to the DNR website you can look for the keyword "chat".
