RAFP Asks Public To Contribute To Spring Challenge

en.wikipedia.org

The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry is challenging local residents to contribute to their annual Spring Challenge.

The food pantry had its part in the $1 million challenge grant in years past from the Feinstein Foundation, or otherwise known as the Feinstein Challenge, but Director Guy Hansen expects this year’s challenge to exceed previous Feinstein matches.

He says the food pantry will make a partial match for all donations or pledges received from March 1st through April 30th thanks to a new anonymous donor...

“…we know that there are a lot of pantry supporters that wait to donate during this time of the year because they get a little bit of an extra boost, it’s not a one for one match; its much smaller than that but it does help, it’s a few extra dollars that we get that help along; every little bit helps.”

Hansen says food used for voting in this year’s can-tastic event counts toward the challenge. He says food is valued at $1 per can or box. Food donations can be dropped off at the pantry from 9 am to noon, Monday through Friday.
