Referendums On Tuesday's Ballot

Referendums will be a part of tomorrows Wisconsin primary vote. Rhinelander voters will be asked to approve a half-cent on the dollar sales tax to help maintain roads within the city. City Administrator Kristina Ashenbrenner outlines the proposal....

"......it'll be a (one-half of of a cent on a dollar) sales tax with 100 percent of the money going to the city to help with infrastructure costs, so in our case it will go to repair roads...."

Antigo school district voters Tuesday will decide on a nearly $26 million dollar proposal that would reconfigure district buildings. Director of Business Services Tim Prunty...

"......the wording of the referendum is such that it includes the acquisition of land, the building of a new elementary school, the renovation and remodeling of two existing rural schools and interior furnishings for the building..."

Some elementary schools both in the city and in the rural areas would close.

In Goodman-Armstrong Creek school district,voters are being asked to exceed the revenue cap by $550,000 for three years.

In the town of Arbor Vitae, two referendum questions are being asked. Whether ATV's should be allowed on town roads, and whether the town should continue its membership in the Minocqua library.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
