Rhinelander Airport Numbers Hold Steady

en.wikipedia.org

Enplanements at the Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport last year were nearly the same number as the year before. Airport Director Joe Brauer says the number of passengers were down about 25 from the year before. He says they are limited by the number of flights they have...

".....we have, basically, our 100 seats a day. There are only so many people we can get on and with no extension...at least we're glad it's staying pretty steady...."

He says enplanements have been about at the same level for three years. He says one positive is ticket prices. He says right now flying out of Rhinelander is competitive with any airport in Wisconsin outside of Madison and Milwaukee.

Delta Connection operated by SkyWest Airlines is serving Rhinelander with jet service via Minneapolis/ St. Paul International Airport.

Brauer says cheaper fuel might spur their connector airline to look at one more....

"....because of the fuel prices being so low. That maybe gives us another chance to try to get an additional flight sometime in the summer. Probably not this summer, it would be too soon, as you need to hire pilots and get the aircraft up to snuff. As you look at 2017 you might have another chance....."
