Wikimedia Commons Royalbroil

Daniel Guild has voluntarily resigned his position as Weston's Village Administrator, according to a joint press release issued by Guild and the Trustees on Tuesday.

He is listed as a finalist for the open City Administrator job in Rhinelander.

The news comes following the approval of a severance package by Trustees, which according to a prepared statement read by President Barb Ermeling is consistent with his employment agreement. Guild was not in attendance at Tuesday's meeting and has not commented on the matter other than to say it has been an honor to serve the community and worked with knowledgeable and forward-thinking colleagues. According to the release Guild's resignation is not the result of any misconduct.

A City of Rhinelander release lists Guild, Jeff Eder and Stephen Kil as the three finalists for the Rhinelander job. The City Council is meeting in closed session Friday morning to consider those candidates.

Eder is the City Administrator in East Peoria, Illinois. Kil is the Town Manager of St. John, Indiana.
