If you think it can't happen to you, talk to Pete Cody of Rhinelander. He's a victim of identity theft and it's taken a lot of time to repair his finances. He spoke with Ken Krall about it.
Cody says he also had to file a report with the Federal Trade Commission, all his banking institutions and he says he's holding his breath hoping nothing else bad happens.
Pete Cody says he doesn't know how much money the thieves have taken but he says it appears to be in the thousands of dollars. He says anyone who thinks identity theft can't happen to them should be extremely cautious.
