A benefit mountain bike race is set for Saturday in Minocqua to benefit Lakeland area mountain bike trails.

The group LAMBO, or Lakeland Area Mountain Bike Organization, is hosting the event.

"....LAMBO is having their "Rip, Zip and Sip" event. It's a fat biking and zip line race and social gathering. We're going to have live music, food, and lots of fun. It's a fundraiser for trail development in the Lakeland area..."

Hablewitz talks about improving area trails through the fundraiser...

"....the Raven Trail which is near the Clear Lake campground near Lake Tomahawk. The mountain bike group there is developing some trails at the Zip Line facility. Their both fat bike trails in the winter time, their groomed for fat biking. In the summer they're mountain bike trails. We're hoping to expand the mileage out there and expand the trails further...."

The Rip will feature a 2 hour lap race on the Minocqua Zip Line Trails at the Northwoods Zip Line which may be completed solo or with a team. There will be a heated tent with bluegrass music.

The Zip Line trail is about a mile south of downtown Minocqua off U.S. 51. More information is on the Lakeland Area Mountain Bike Organization Facebook page.
