The Executive Director of the Forest County Economic Partnership has resigned as reported by the Florence Mining News and Forest Republican.
Jim Schuessler cited personal reasons for his decision. A call to Schuessler for comment was not immediately returned.
Schuessler has been a proponent of a proposed off-road park in Forest county which has been controversial. Proponents say the park would bring economic development. Opponents say the park could cost local taxpayers and question tactics used by those in favor of the project.
The Forest County Board will hold a special meeting Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the park, possible locations, and other issues.
