Two people have died in separate snowmobile crashes over the weekend.
The Vilas County Sheriff's Department reports a single crash on South Crystal Lake Road in Land O' Lakes Saturday morning.
Investigators report the driver failed to negotiate a curve along a marked snowmobile route. The snowmobile left the trail, striking several trees. The driver was thrown off the sled. The name of the driver was not released.
Saturday evening, a snowmobile crash in Lake Tomahawk killed another driver. The Oneida County Sheriff's Department reports they were called shortly after 6 p.m. to a trail near the intersection of Wolf Road and state Highway 47. The male driving the sled was dead at the scene, no other details were released other than the crash remains under investigation.
Numerous emergency responders from local agencies responded to each crash.
