A Vilas county man has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Madison with allegedly producing child pornography and one count of possessing child porn.
The indictment alleges that in July, 2015, 35 year old Benjamin J.McHugh of St. Germain had a minor engage in a sex act so he could record it on his cellphone.
The indictment also alleges McHugh was also found with child porn in September, 2016.
If convicted, McHugh faces between five and 40 years in federal prison on the production charge, and 20 years on the possession charge. The charges against him are the result of an investigation by the FBI's Child Exploitation Task Force and the Vilas County Sheriff’s Department.
