As the election draws closer, the race for Wisconsin's Supreme Court seat is getting heated

. The Republican Party of Wisconsin has filed a complaint against Judge Rebecca Dallet with the Wisconsin Judicial Commission. They allege she violated the code of judicial conduct by improperly using her court calendar to drive her fundraising operation by soliciting contributions from attorneys who have cases before her. The Party is calling for the Judicial Commission to immediately launch an investigation into Dallet’s conduct on the bench. Dallet's campaign manager Jessica Lovejoy said the matter was a baseless complaint. Dallet's opponent, Judge Michael Screnrock issued a statement saying the allegations were serious, and Screnrock says, a troubling pattern of behavior by Judge Dallet that warrants further investigation.

Dallet was campaigning in Rhinelander Friday. She had plenty to say about Judge Screnock....

"...he is someone who blocked access to women's healthcare, against the law. They had the lawful right to access that healthcare and then twice refused to give his name. He is someone worked on Act 10 and then became appointed(judge in Sauk Co.) based on that work by our Governor. Then he worked on gerrymandering, which he defended the maps. They have been found to be unconstitutional in the federal courts and is now sitting at the Supreme Court...."

It's widely viewed that Dallet is supported by Democrats while Screnrock is supported by conservatives for a position that was designed to be non-partisan. Former Obama U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder was in the state campaigning for Dallet last week. Reports indicate the Republican Party of Wisconsin has spent more than $100,000 supporting Screnrock.
