The Lakeland Union High School Board of Education has expelled a female student for her alleged role in making a terror threat against the school last month.
The board voted this week to expel the sophomore until age 21. She can apply to be reinstated for the 2018-19 school year after successfully passing drug testing and counseling, according to Principal/Administrator Jim Bouche.
Authorities allege she wrote threatening messages linked to the Parkland, Florida mass shooting on a women’s restroom stall Feb. 15. A second expulsion hearing set for that night was postponed after the juvenile male student did not have proper “representation,” according to Bouche
. Authorities referred both juveniles to county social services for further action.
