Summit To Focus On Rural Revitalization

en.wikipedia.org

Making rural Wisconsin's economy vibrant is the goal of a meeting coming next month to Forest county.

Wisconsin Rural Partners Rural Summit is set for April 20-21. Joshua Jameson is the Executive Director of the Forest County Econonic Development Partnership. Jameson says the two-day conference is wholly focused on rural revitalization...

"....everything from federal funding sources, arts and revitalization, state funding resources, marketing rural areas, education for revitalization, grant writing, what's the future of local government in revitalization, rural health care opportunities...."

...and several other sessions. Jameson says the summit will give rural communities a chance to find resources to help them develop. He says people with expertise in many different areas will be available to discuss sustainable rural communities. He says a key discussion area is making arts in rural Wisconsin a part of economic development.

Jameson says sponsorships are available for businesses and others wanting to network with participants.

Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch will be the keynote speaker.

The Rural Summit is being held at the Potawatomi Carter Casino and Hotel in Carter. More information is available online at wirural.org
