Survey Could Say Much About Northwoods Healthcare

commons.wikimedia.org

Northwoods health leaders are hoping the public responds to a survey which will shape the future of health services in this region.

Ministry Health Care Community Link Coordinator Sue Kirby says they're in the process of doing a community health needs assessment in Forest, Oneida and Vilas counties. This is in collaboration, she says, with the county health departments and Ministry's three northern region hospitals. Kirby says the survey asks a number of questions..

"....information about what people perceive to be the top needs for health, there's some demographic questions, What people are perceiving as the needs regarding access to healthcare...."

Surveys are being distributed online and in paper format. The paper copies are at local libraries, churches, chambers of commerce and county and city departments. Other questions can be answered through the three county's public health departments. Kirby says the results will shape the way health care is provided in the Northwoods.

There will be a meeting December 11 at Nicolet College to see what the survey reveals.
