A sweep by federal and state law enforcement officials found only one registered sex offender in Oneida county to be out of compliance.
U.S. Marshals along with the state Department of Corrections officers and Oneida County Sheriff's deputies checked on whether sex offenders were living where they're supposed to be.
The sweep was conducted June 16 and 17. 69 registered sex offenders in Oneida county were checked and only one was found to be non-compliant. The state will investigate and determine if a recommendation on charges is necessary.
The program monitors 22,774 Wisconsin Sex Offenders. The Wisconsin Department of Corrections website has a database of offenders for the general public to use.
