Two teenagers have been taken into custody for a series of recent burglaries in the Lakeland area.
Lieutenant Dan Hess from the Oneida County Sheriff's Department says a tip led to the arrests....
"...August 11 at about 2:30 in the morning, the sheriff's office received a call of a possible burglary at Whitman's Resort on Highway 51 in Hazelhurst. A concerned citizen called in and said there were two people inside the building. Oneida county sheriff's deputies, Vilas county deputies and Minocqua police responded..."
18 year old Justin Gibbs of Minocqua and a 15 year old juvenile were apprehended for the break in. The investigation led to evidence concerning three burglaries and several thefts from vehicles that had been reported. Burglary, theft and criminal damage to property evidence was forwarded to the District Attorney's office.
Officials said citizen cooperation was key to the investigation.
