Three Deer Shot Illegally; DNR Seeks Public Information

en.wikipedia.org

The DNR's  Bureau of Law Enforcement is seeking the public's help involving the illegal shooting of three deer in the town of Woodruff early Wednesday morning.

Conservation Warden Tim Ebert gives details...

"....three deer were possibly shot off of Highway 47 between Walter Road and Forest Trail in the town of Woodruff. Upon investigation, we found two bucks in one location, two antlered bucks that had been shot, appeared to have been shot in the head with a small caliber rifle. Further down the road we found a buck-fawn that also appeared to have been shot...."

The shootings appear to have happened Wednesday morning between 4:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Shooting deer this time of year is illegal, especially along a road which is also illegal in Wisconsin. Ebert is asking anyone who might have seen or heard something related to the illegal deer killings to call the DNR Hotline at 1-800-TIP-WDNR or 1-800-847-9367 to confidentially share the information.
