Three Lakes Residents Need To Meet Again On Library, Town Hall

Town of Three Lakes

Three Lakes residents will have to vote again whether to finance upgrades of the Demmer library and the town offices. Tuesday was the town budget meeting where electors vote on the budget.

That portion of the meeting had been noticed properly and the budget was acted on. Also that night, motions were passed to allow the town to get the money to upgrade the Demmer library and the town offices.

As Town Chair Stella Westfall says, it was discovered there were procedural problems with the votes for the buildings, so another meeting needs to be called...

".....both of those motions are invalid due to the fact that they hadn't been previously published in advance of the meeting per Wisconsin statute 60.123. So again, they're not valid. So what the town will be doing at this stage of the game, we'll have to schedule a special town meeting and we haven't determined the date on that yet....."

A special meeting will be called to discuss the buildings.

Two advisory questions were on the November 8 ballot that included whether to get the money to improve the Demmer Library, which passed, and a second advisory question to get the money to improve the town offices, which narrowly failed.
