Tourism in Northwoods off to a good start

en.wikipedia.org

Tourism is up and running for many areas in the Northwoods. Memorial Weekend kicked off the start of tourism season, and gave businesses and chambers up north an optimistic view for the rest of the summer.

“Well, so far it's looking good, we had a very busy Memorial Day weekend here in Boulder Junction and we got lots of great feedback from our business owners and looking forward to the start of the season really..”

That was the Executive Director of the Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce, Theresa Smith.

Executive Director of the Minocqua Chamber of Commerce, Krystal Westfall says the area has been extremely busy since Memorial Day weekend.

“You know, we have actually been extremely busy.. There used to be a lull between Memorial Day Weekend and the 4th of July that we were always trying to fill some spaces, but it seems like every weekend here on out we are just booked, packed up.”

Resorts and hotels in the Northwoods are beginning to fill up as tourism grows going into the summer season.
