Tri-County to Dedicate new Emergency Shelter

en.wikipedia.org

The public is invited to a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting Saturday for the Tri-County Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault’s new emergency shelter, the Lily House.  The house is named after Rhinelander resident Lily Kongslein who dedicated nearly 25 years to Tri-County. Director Shellie Holmes says it’s a new start for everyone.

“…everything is new. We have six bedrooms, a large living room/family room/ kitchen area, we have six bathrooms, we have a double laundry facility, an open pantry, a nice backyard and mainly a state-of-the-art security system; that’s why we can talk openly about this and invite the public to come through and see.”

Holmes says all the rooms have been adopted by local groups, churches and individuals who have furnished the rooms. She says it will give victims a sense of comfort as they start a new chapter.

The dedication is Saturday, October 3 at 11am at 3716 Country Drive in Rhinelander. For more information visittri-countycouncil.org
