Two Persons Charged After Heroin Death In Crandon

Two people have been arrested by Forest County authorities after the overdose death of a male Saturday, January 20.

Emergency crews were called shortly before one p.m. that day to an unidentified location in Crandon. Rescuers were unable to revive the person, whose identity has been withheld. Investigators found the person had ingested heroin.

Last Thursday during a traffic stop, 55 year old Joseph Grisius and 30 year old Heather Grisius were arrested. During the investigation, a 9mm gun, heroin, other drugs and paraphernalia were seized. Heather Grisius was referred to the District Attorney's office for charges including Second Degree Reckless Homicide, drug distribution, possession of illegal drugs, carrying a concealed weapon. She is being held on $75,000 bond.

Joseph Grisius was booked on carrying a concealed weapon, and party to several crimes. He is being held on $15,000 bond. A search warrant was executed by Langlade County officials at the Grisius residence in Pearson that allegedly found more heroin and other drugs and a firearm.

The investigation is said to be on going.
