UW Extension Offers Exercise Program

en.wikipedia.org

The Oneida County UW-Extension is offering a 10-week session encouraging elders to build and maintain strength through an exercise program at the Ministry Health Care Riverside Clinic in Rhinelander.  The program, called Strong Bones, is designed to work different groups of muscles through different exercises using a dumbbells, ankle weights and body weight.   Family Living Educator Sarah Richie says the program is made for all ages and abilities.

“…those who are feeling they need to add some sort of exercise program to help prevent falls, increase balance and bone density, that this would be a great class for them.”

Richie says in order to reap the full benefits of the program participants must commit to attending the full 10 week session. She says classes are Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15pm to 6:15 starting March 7.

An informational meeting about the program will be held at 5:15 Feb. 29 at the Riverside Clinic.

To register call the Oneida County UW-Extension office at 715-365-2750.
