The Veteran's Administration has been in the news recently. Tuesday, an open house is scheduled in Iron Mountain to show the public what the VA has to offer.
Brad Nelson is Public Affairs Officer for the Oscar G. Johnson V A Medical Center. He says they want the community to see what is available...
"....really to engage the community, invite them to come in, see what we're all about. Also to explore opportunities to serve veterans as volunteers or employees...."
Nelson says they're particularly interested in talking to veterans and family members who are not now enrolled in VA healthcare to stop in. He says staff will be available to assist them.
Nelson says representatives from the Veterans Benefit Administration and local Veterans Service Officers will also be on hand to answer questions.
The open house is Tuesday, June 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the main outpatient wating area of the Iron Mountain facility. More information is available at www.ironmountain.va.gov or call the medical center in Iron Mountain.
