Veterans Reintegration Topic Friday At Nicolet College

The next event in the Nicolet College series takes place Friday and this one centers on veterans reintegrating into society.The series focuses on helping higher education and business professionals hire and work with veterans, the unemployed, and the underemployed. This weeks presentation discusses veterans reintegrating to society.

Dean of Health Occupations at Nicolet College, Lenore Blemke, talks about the Hire Up series...

"...we're trying to help veterans returning now to find their way into school into the work place. What works for them, what doesn't. We're hoping this is a really helpful piece...."

Blemke says they're trying to help veterans returning now to find their way into school into the work place....

"....I think this would be good for the employers but I also think whenever we've had 'Hire Up' we've had veterans attend I think it makes them feel good to know everyone is thinking about them and they can also share their stories...."

Keynote speaker is David Chrisinger, Communication and Veteran Transition Specialist who teaches at UW-Stevens Point and has written the book "See Me for Who I Am".He talks to 20 young student veterans who are working to bridge the cultural gap dividing them from the American people they fought to protect. Chrisinger is a Rhinelander native and graduate of Rhinelander High School.

The program Veterans Reintegration is Friday, September 16 at 9 am at the Northwoods Center at Nicolet College in Rhinelander. There is no cost to attend. More information is here.
