Volunteers Needed For "Christmas Not Alone" Dinner

en.wikipedia.org

It's been held for the last 32 years, and the Rhinelander Lions Club are again sponsoring the "Christmas Not Alone" dinner for folks who wish to have company on Christmas Day.

For the first time, the meal will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Church North, Kohlbeck Hall on North Stevens Street. The previous location was at the National Guard Armory. Parking is available behind the hall.

Lions spokesman Harry Helwig..

".....the Rhinelander Lions are having this "Home Not Alone" dinner for anyone in the community. We'll be serving about 300 people. We have about 150 come in and sit down. They take meals home to shut ins, then we deliver 100-125 meals in the community...."

The meal is turkey with all the trimmings from 11 a.m. to1:30p.m.

Helwig says volunteers are needed both December 24 and 25, first in meal prep the day before then serving and home delivery on Christmas Day. Rapid Cab will assist those needing transportation. He says donations are also welcome at Box 1005 Rhinelander.
