Volunteers Sought For County Deer Advisory Councils

en.wikipedia.org

Each county in Wisconsin has a County Deer Advisory Council to provide input and recommendations to the DNR on deer management within their county.

The Councils..known as C-DACs.... are accepting applications to fill vacant seats for a term beginning next year. DNR big game section chief, Bob Nack says several councils currently have at least one seat available for qualified applicants...

"....the CDAC's were implemented in 2014...the idea is to increase public involvement in local deer management decisions...."

Recommendations help the DNR determine antlerless quotas, antlerless permits and annual season options.

Both hunters and non-hunters are welcome to apply, but applicants must have experience or involvement with at least one of the seven stakeholder groups represented on the council.

Nack says interested individuals are encouraged to submit their application by Jan. 1 to be an active participant in 2016. More information is on the DNR website ,
