The Walter E. Olson Memorial Library in Eagle River is closed for an upgrade, but after a massive effort this week, patrons will find a temporary library set and ready to go.

Library Board Trustee Joe Eisele says if you go to the library's location on North Main Street, you won't find it open, but they've opened a temporary library near Eagle River Memorial Hospital....

"....due to the generosity of Eagle River Memorial Hospital and Ministry Health, there's a building that became available that is kitty-korner from the hospital here in Eagle River that is going to meet our needs. We've moved the whole library over there lock, stock and barrel. Been at it for the last four or five days....

Eisele says starting Monday about 99 percent of the current library services will be available at the new location at 150 East Hospital Road. Eisele says the current building will be closed for nearly a year while the work on the upgrade is going on.

He says the funding for the expansion and remodeling of the current facility was paid for by the library foundation and no tax dollars were used.

g Miron Construction of Neenah do phase 3 if they hold to the $2.1 million bid they submitted last spring. Miron also won the auditorium contract.

The committee’s recommendation on whether or not to proceed with phase 3 will come at this month’s school board meeting.
