Warm For Winter To Help Stave Off Bone-Chilling Cold

The bone-chilling cold of the past week is a reminder that a free winter clothing giveaway continues this weekend.

"Warm for Winter"  co-coordinator Jan Leschke says they will open the pantry tomorrow in Rhinelander...

"....with this cold weather we have plenty to keep people warm. Adults, kids, the whole family actually. We have boots, jackets, snow pants, bedding and toys for the kids. We have hats and mitts and scarves. Just about anything that touches your body we have and it's free, that's the best part...."

Jan Leschke says the pantry is open from 10 a.m. to noon this Saturday at 900 Boyce Drive, at the Friendly Village complex on the city's south side. The pantry is open to anyone. Leschke says they have plenty of winter items available. The pantry is held the last Saturday of each month during the winter months.

Leschke says they've been doing the pantry for 10 years along with co-coordinator Gail Wilcox. They started the pantry at the First Congregational United Church of Christ before moving to Friendly Village.
