Wisconsin Gas Prices Among The Lowest In Nation

Wikimedia Commons

Another thing to be thankful for this holiday: driving won't cost you as much as it has in year's past.

Senior Petroleum Analyst at the website Gasbuddy.com, Patrick DeHaan says Wisconsin's prices remain lower than many other states...

"......some of the lowest prices we've seen in Wisconsin since 2008. Prices in Wisconsin have the distinct advantage of being lower than last year, whereas about four-fifths of the United States looking at higher than what we saw last year...."

DeHaan says over the holiday period, motorists nationwide will spend nearly $1.7 billion less at the pump than the five-year average. The main factor in the low prices is oil production that continues to outpace rising demand. But DeHaan says that could change as the price of crude oil is rapidly changing...

".....oil has begun to increase yet again. In mid-October, prices were holding at $51 dollars a barrel before they fell to $42 dollars a barrel within the last week and a half and now they've rebounded back to $47...."

According to the GasBuddy.com website...in the Northwoods, gas prices were at $2.12 in Rhinelander, $2.08 in Minocqua, $2.19 in Eagle River, $2.04 in Antigo.
