Woodboro Lakes Master Plan Includes ATV Trail

Wisconsin DNR

A master plan for nearly 3,600 acres of recreational land west of Rhinelander has been finished and the public is being asked to comment.

A public meeting on the Woodboro Lakes Wildlife Area will be held Thursday, July 23 at 6 p.m. at the Northwoods Community Elementary School in Harshaw.

DNR planner Yoyi Steele says they've been working on the draft master plan since early this year. She says the plan emphasizes management of common trees like oak and aspen and continuing with traditional recreational pursuits like hunting. But one aspect is a proposed ATV trail...

"....the plan is also recommending that the ATV trail that has been proposed since last year be included in the plan. That would be something for folks to comment on....."

Comments on the plan are being accepted through Friday, August 7. Steele says the public can review the plan on the DNR websiteby typing in Woodboro Lakes in the search box. Comments can also be made online.
