The goal is having healthier employees as a chronic disease prevention and management coalition is hosting another Worksite Wellness Summit.

The coalition in Vilas and Oneida counties is known as Northwoods LEAN,( or Linking Education, Activity and Nutrition) is hosting the summit next month at Nicolet College.

Spokesperson Maria Skubal says the event is free..

"....the event is 100 percent free and open to any business in Oneida or Vilas county who might be interested in worksite wellness programs, the benefits they have for employees, and how they can get a program running for their agency...."

Skubal says wellness programs reduce employee risks for disease and workplace injury, decreased health insurance claims. She says for every $1 spent, employers can see up to $6 in return. She says wellness programs can reduce sick leave, medical costs, and workers comp claims by 25 percent.

The summit is October 20 at Nicolet College. Contact the Oneida or Vilas county health department for more information, or go to the website northwoodslean.org
