WPS Foundation Grant Helps Light RAFP

With the Focus on Energy grant and a $2,000 grant from Wisconsin Public Service Foundation, the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry has completed an upgrade to it's interior and exterior lighting.
WPS spokesperson Leah Van Zile says the pantry was able to replace all interior and exterior incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs and replace all the old style fluorescent fixtures with new energy efficient units and bulbs....

"....they'll actually get some money back based on those technologies. For the food pantry, they save money plus a return on their investment...."

The estimated energy savings is $1,100 per year,  with half as many bulbs in many places, but Van Zile says the illumination is better than  before.

Van Zile also reminds WPS customers that they've hired summer interns to do utility checks. She says if you see someone on your property, they workers have identification and are doing things like checking lines and replacing signs.
